The most imposing of the High Jedi Council Masters, Mace Windu shared the title of Senior Representative with Master Yoda Windu's fighting skills were well balanced making him a great warrior, even though he was the public spokeperson of the Jedi Council.
Windu remained reserved during the time of the Battle of Naboo, relying on Qui-Gon Jinn to stop the trouble brewing in between the Trade Federation and the people of Naboo. During the crisis, when Qui-Gon brought young Anakin Skywalker before the council, Windu turned the boy down for Jedi training. Although Jinn believed Skywalker was the chosen one, Windu did not, but when Qui-Gon died, and Obi-Wan Kenobi requested permission to train Skywalker, the council granted him permission, despite the reservations of Master Yoda.
Windu's most legendary action came when Count Dooku returned, forming the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Windu led two-hundred jedi to Geonosis, not only to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, but to stop the Confederacy's war machine before it was ready. Windu's attack force fought valiantly in the face of terrible odds, but most of the Jedi were killed that day. Yoda then arrived with the clone army, driving off Dooku's forces. Although Windu defeated bounty hunter Jango Fett, one of history's greatest warriors, the victory brought him little comfort. He had lost many friends and fellow Jedi in the battle and it would haunt him long after.
